Poisoning Case Examined At State Hospital In Tewksbury
Lowell Oct 20 The State Board of Charities and hospital authorities continued their inquiry into accidental belladonna poisoning at the State hospital in Tewksbury. Medical Examiner J C Irish states Walter Fitzgerald died of heart disease, not belladonna poisoning, though he was among 11 of 60 ward inmates exposed. The nurse who dispensed medicine may have left the ward allowing possible belladonna contamination via water. No motive or homicidal intent is apparent, and the case remains enigmatic.

A girl in a white petticoat and black waist jumped from an express wagon on Commercial Street to create a death bluff.
