Snaky George Runs Odd Missouri Snake Farm
A Tennessee native nicknamed Snaky George operates a 40 acre Ozark snake farm near Gainesville Missouri. He stocks the hillside with rattlesnakes and harvests their oil selling a pint for $1.50 to druggists. He kills about 2000 snakes each autumn, using a wire noose and a kettle to render oil for liniments.

Discovery of New Art in Stained Glass
Americans excel in stained glass manufacture due to using color within the glass rather than applying color to surfaces. The Mechanics Fair showcases this method in a beautiful exhibit that rivals mosaic effects. A strong external light in the Grand Hall balcony enhances viewing of these pieces daily.
