Dresden prospers as Florence of Germany attracts visitors

Dresden, famed as the Florence of Germany, thrives on Elbe scenery and central rail routes between Vienna Prague and Berlin. Over 10 000 temporary foreign residents, including Russians Poles English and Americans, have stayed there this summer. Jenny Lind fans gather in Hofssnitz where she tends her children, while Otto Goldsmidt may move his family to England, a potential blow to Dresden.
