Washington Oct 23 The national industrial conference ends with only the public delegates remaining after labor representatives exit. Secretary Lane conveys President Wilsons request to the public group to continue work toward a new capital labor relationship.

Martin M. Lomasney issued a statement defending Fitzgerald in the Fitzgerald Tague controversy. He said the old guard dies but never quits, signaling continued opposition amidst the House clashes.
Secretary of Labor Wilson urged miners to cancel the strike order as operators feuded over a plan to avert a nationwide soft coal walkout set to begin in ten days. The miner leader refused to rescind the order, keeping the dispute unresolved. Washington date October 23.
