Market breadth remains irregular as Atchison and other names drive advances and declines, while commentary questions eastern stock dividend prospects.
Wheat opened firm on May option with deferred strength from Minneapolis and Duluth quotes. December eased. Trading light as traders expect up moves to sell. Corn and oats faded.Nov and late interests pressured values. New York and St Louis futures show mixed closed and bid levels for Wheat Corn and Oats with cash oats quoted.
A quarterly dividend of 3 percent will be issued to stockholders of the Mason & Hamill Organ and Piano Company on the first day of November proximo.
New York shares showed early weakness with fractional declines across the list before a late rally lifted prices slightly. Knowledgeable fronts like Missouri Pacific and Norfolk & Western preferred weighed, while rails overall stayed quiet with minor gains and the day closed weakly after a volatile session.

Antwerp opened another wool sale with strong attendance and free operation. Prices rose about 15 centimes from August. Of 2900 bales offered, Buenos Ayres sold 14 bales at 70 175 francs per 100 kilos, Montevideo 485 bales at 70 1865 francs, Victorian greasy 298 bales at LOE Oe francs, and Cape of Good Hope and Natal 207 bales at 140 165 francs.
