The Hall Mills murder investigation nears its end as Prosecutor Beekman prepares to present evidence to the Somerset County grand jury. He will seek indictments against one and possibly three individuals linked to the killing of the minister and his companion.
Forma declares Saturdays race a no contest while Ford crew says they will not sail today. Committee unsure if the race will be held, with ongoing debate over eligibility and event status.
The international fishermen’s race in Gloucester faces cancellation as the Henry Ford may sail with a skeleton crew or a new crew after the International race committee upheld a ruling declaring Saturday’s contest not a race. Chairman Wilfred W. Lufkin announced the decision after a morning session at John Hays Hammond Jr.’s home.
A five story brick tenement at Lexington Avenue and a block suffered a deadly fire early today. Fifteen people, mostly children, perished as flames swept from cellar to attic. A 17 year old boy became a fire hero. City officials suspect a pyromaniac caused the blaze. Continued on Page 12 First Col.
The American cruiser Sacramento has arrived at Vladivostok at the request of the American consul. Reports say disorders are in progress around the city and the Soviets blame the Japanese for the unrest.
In Springfield on October 22 Simon Bissonette 21 collapsed and died of heart failure as he was about to plunge into the line in a Shamrocks versus Acorns amateur game at Emily Hill playground. Teammate William Heckler 22 was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries.
New York October 22 Dr Lyman Abbott editor in chief of the Outlook magazine for almost four decades died at age 86. Abbott a clergyman lawyer and author succeeded Henry Ward Beecher as pastor and leader of the journal’s church and reform circles.
Boston officials bar Isadora Duncan from another exposure after a Symphony Hall incident. Mayor Curley and his staff of censors will enforce the ban citing her liberal ideas and public statements.
Isadora faced sharp criticism for her interpretation of the Pischeoranean art but recovered her composure during her engagement at Symphony Hall, showing resolve and renewed poise.

Frederick Candee of New Rochelle was held on a manslaughter charge for the death of Mary Quartironi 17 of Mamaroneck who was struck and killed by his automobile in Mamaroneck last night. Her companion Michael Saporito 19 of Larchmont was injured.
Anna Lucas age five of Danvers was struck on Andover Street near Wilson Square by a car driven by Joseph Marceau of 64a South Broadway Lawrence. He lacked license and registration and was arrested for manslaughter and operating without a license. He was bailed by his wife.
Leander Gothberg of 90 Summer street Norwood suffered a severe blast while attempting to solder a leaky gasoline tank in his car. The explosion nearly wrecked the auto and practically tore his left arm from the socket. He was taken to Norwood Hospital after initial first aid by Dr. Thomas H. O'Toole.
At Captain Morrissey’s home in Gloucester Mrs. M refused to wake her husband at 1 39 am stating he is tired and nearly sick from the ordeal She said she would not bother him and referenced Captain Morrissey and a prior Post statement about taking the Ford out on Monday morning if the case decided no race The details remain unclear and the record ends abruptly
Gloucester, Oct. Charles H. Harty, a race committee member, missed the meeting but told a reporter his views remain. He said Saturday's contest was a fan, and the decision of the committee was served wrongly. He would have voted the same way if present.
