Bertha Stannard wife of John Stannard of Monterey eloped in September with Reuben Nettleton of Monterey. Stannard confronted them and she fled with her lover. Deputy Sheriff Raistanger arrested them at West Haven Conn Monday night and they were sent to jail after being held for trial October 27.
Augusta Me Oct 20 a Randolph special reports Fred Taylor was arrested today on a rape charge involving his 10 year old step daughter. The complaint was filed by Taylor's wife alleging the offense occurred in August and an attempted act occurred last Monday. A hearing is set for Wednesday.
