At 9 33 last night at Bunker Hill and Elm streets Charlestown fire engine 27 collided with an outward bound electric car. Seven people injured including three firemen one horse killed and another shot after the crash. Driver David W Towle was thrown from the seat suffering a fractured leg and a deep wrist cut.
Captain Bart Hayes and Engineer James P. Gillogly were hurled from the engine and severely injured along with passengers Mrs. Wallace Rice Mr. Rice Miss Marie Mahoney and Mrs. Charles Goswell. Two horses Ned and Joe were killed in the crash on the Elm street Bunker Hill incline.
Eugene N. Foss, running for lieutenant governor, praised Curtis Guild Jr. as the nation known writer of a letter to President Roosevelt on tariffs. Foss called Guild a champion of lower living costs and sane protection and urged Massachusetts Republicans to elect him to the U S Senate, replacing Henry Cabot Lodge.
Eugene N. Foss backs former Governor Curtis Guild Jr for the U S Senate against Senator Lodge. Guild plans a reply in Lynn after Foss’s Marlboro speech. Guild will speak in Lynn tomorrow with Governor Draper Lieutenant Governor Frothingham and Senator Nash on the platform.
In Marlboro Governor Guild is praised by Foss and Vahey as an ally of the Democratic ticket while Lodge’s pending re election looms. Foss denounces a Worcester Telegram attack as unjust and misleading, citing Guild's stand on tariff reform and Taft’s tariff concerns as proof of Republican progressivism.

Amelia St. Jean was last seen entering Hill's private office after visiting an employment office. Time of death is placed at about 2:30 p.m. based on digestion and autopsy notes, while investigators suspect poisoning and a crude attempt to conceal the murder by a herb doctor. Evidence points to a locked entry way and a furnace area as the crime scene. Police anticipate a second autopsy to confirm motive and method.
