Miss Pau line Chase-more known as Pretty Polly of the Pink Pajamas will marry Claude Grahame-White the English aviator and notable airman rather than James M Barrie or any royal or millionaire suitors.
Charles Frohman announced the engagement at the Knickerbocker Theatre after the performance of Our Miss Gibbs. The news drew congratulations from the cast as Miss Chase and the airman left in a taxi following the curtain.
Philadelphia roaring with baseball zeal as the Athletics win 9 to 3 over the Chicago Cubs. Collins Murphy and Mack lauded for the victory that caps a two game series sweep and sparks a grand city celebration.

J. C. Elwin, aboard the steamer Trent, recounts the Wellman America crew rescue after a 72 hour storm off Hatters Island. The airship ran into a thunderstorm, jettisoned gasoline, and was saved by the Trent’s wireless call and swift steamship response.
A massive gale swept the Florida peninsula from Jacksonville southward causing multi million dollar damage. About forty thousand square miles lost communications as the storm moved across the southeastern U S coast. Continued on Page 2.
St Augustine Florida at low tide water breaks over the sea wall and threatens more streets at high tide. Power plants are out and the city remains in darkness. All stores are closed with water entering lower floors of many shops.
Forecast to midweek calls for fair conditions in Boston and nearby areas today with showers possible tomorrow. Winds shift from variable to northeast, increasing in strength, with high gale on the southern and mid Atlantic coasts and dangerous conditions expected offshore.
On October 18 the airship America carrying Walter Wellman and five companions was sighted near the steamer Trent in distress. The Trent attempted to assist as gusts swept the balloon, finally lowering lifeboats. The aeronauts dropped into the sea and were saved, treated by Dr. J. C. Cormick aboard the Trent with minor injuries to Wellman and others.
