In St Paul on October 18 Judge Brill ruled the district court lacked jurisdiction in the mandamus case by the Democratic State committee seeking to compel Secretary of State Brown to regroup fusion electors differently. The suit was dismissed with no further steps announced.
In Quebec on October 18 the criminal court reported the grand jury returned no bill in the case against former Premier Mer cier over alleged malfeasance in office related to Hereford railway subsidies.
