Freight Wreck Blocks Travel at Mt Tom on B and M

Caught with plunder at liquor store robbery attempt

At 2 am patrolman Tayes saw a man outside William Murphy’s liquor store on Clifton Street. The suspect fled, but a hidden youth was arrested. $7 or $8, two bottles of whiskey and 100 cigars were found on the prisoner. The man claimed to be John Crowell and refused to reveal his home or accomplice.

Medford High Principal Injured in Fall at School

Lorin C. Dane principal of Medford High School suffered a serious dislocation of the left ankle and a break above it when he slipped over a basket of school supplies in the school entry before the committee room.
