An express train eastbound on the Canada Southern collided with a gravel train pulling from a siding at Tilbury Centre. Engineer Dan Cox was instantly killed. Injured include S. Woods, a child named Callaghan, an unknown man, and A. Lessing. A wrecking train and Dr. Smith were sent from St Thomas to the scene.

James O'Hara struck Manton and fired, grazing Manton's head before police arrested him near Greenpoint. Italian laborers building a reservoir on Magnus Hill in Wellesley took possession of a work train carrying contractor Cornelius F. Dacey of Newport after intercepting it at the station. They beat and threatened him until paid, then held him in an old barn barracks. Local police, aided by Boston officers, were sent to suppress the riot and rescue Dacey under Massachusetts statute section 11 chapter 28.
