Commissioner O Meara has declined the mayoralty nomination. Nine days remain to pick a candidate. A ward chairs meeting will be called within 48 hours to endorse a candidate. Under consideration are Postmaster George Hibbard George Holden Tinkham Louis Frothingham Charles T Gallagher Samuel B Capen Alderman Francis Bangs and ex Mayor Curtis.

Carlton Kremer 12 years old, adopted by Dr. Carlton G. Kremer of 857 Lexington Ave, disappeared after his mother Maud Clark took him. Dr. Kremer says Maud Clark abducted the boy with Miss May Bradley aiding. Clark boarded a Harvard for Boston with the child. Clark, formerly Mrs Forest D. Clark, is linked to Boston residents. Kremer’s sister Malvina aided dispatch on a Harlem street car when abduction occurred.
A fire at a Boston track killed horse Annabel W owned by A S Bigelow. Discovered about 6 40, the blaze spread quickly amid inflammable feed and stalls. Grooms could not reach Annabel W in time but other fine horses escaped the flames.
Worcester report notes Mrs. E Patch a sep tuagenarian in South Royalston near the depot hangs crape on her door after neighbors who did not call often regret not visiting her in life. The aged woman is described as very ill and neglected before death.
Newton police identified Patrick Conroy of Brookline as the man who tried to assault Mrs. Frank Snyder 75, after entering her Brookline home last Saturday. He was arrested today on a charge of assault and battery upon Mrs. Ann Skelton 80 of Newton Centre, who lives on Vine Street.
Former Congressman McNary testified at the Springfield convention in Court Square Theatre describing a crowded event. City Marshal Quilty recalled police efforts to keep the peace while McNary named prize fighters including Allie Alberts Dutch Freeman Mike Sears and promoter William Pierce among attendees.
Sergeant Norris recounted going to the theatre at dawn after a suggestion by Mr. Kiley. He found the front seats filled and ordered the theatre cleared, but Jerry Watson objected, testifying that he acted as the State committee's representative to inspect the theatre in Kiley's presence.
