Weekly Review and Outlook
The money market improves with gold imports and treasury disbursements lowering funding demands. Time money under 6 percent, call money 2 3 to 4 percent, amid reduced crop movement activity. Bank of England and Bank of Germany rate hikes signal limited foreign relief and potential U S financial support, while New York politics loom as a market factor and traders foresee a backing and filling market. The piece ends with mining issue fluctuations and a table noting losses for the week.
