Abington football player dies after practice injuries

Norman Whitper a seven year old sophomore and member of the Abington High School football eleven died after suffering injuries in games this week. He collapsed during practice and was taken to the high school where he died. Medical Examiner Gilman Osgood planned an autopsy to determine the cause. Whitney injured in clashes with Hingham High last Friday and Whitman High in a later game. He lived in North Pembroke.

Dr. Austin B. Fletcher of New York City elected president of Tufts College board of trustees at the fall meeting. New officers include Walter F. Parker of Lawrence as vice president Harvey B. Averill of Barre Vermont secretary and assistant treasurer Clifton H. Dwinnell of Boston treasurer. Melvin M. Johnson of Boston chosen new chairman of the executive committee.

Robbery Attempt at Cambridge Grocery Ends With Escape

Max Glazinis Cambridge shop at 26 Essex Street was held up about 10 15 pm as a young man 22 wearing light clothes and five ten pulled a revolver and demanded money. Glazin cried for help and the robber fled onto Essex Street and around Austin Street.

Falls Down Stairs Claim Life of Elderly Visitor

Claude Smith 80 of 235 Columbia Street Cambridge fell ten feet on a stairway at 325 Prospect Street while visiting last night and died soon after at Cambridge City Hospital. He left a widow and six children.

Mary Tudor Garland Hale of Buzzards Bay Massachusetts filed suit against the Farmer Labor Party of New York to recover 4600 she loaned in 1920 for the campaigns of Dudley Field Malone for governor.
