The Congregational Brotherhood of America passed a sweeping labor declaration at Park Street Church. The vote authorized a church backed campaign and pledged financial help to press labor questions churches had dodged. The measure is to be sent to the coin for further action.
Chicago detectives arrested Mrs. Ralph E. Hayden and three relatives in connection with a listed string of burglaries at farmers' homes near Crown Point Indiana. The group includes Mrs. Mattie Jennings and Miss Laura Jennings along with Mrs. A Dresner.
Detectives Conick and Culhane say Mrs Hayden confessed that she and other women stole farm goods for devilment during a trip to Crown Point. Items valued at 50 to 75 dollars including butter eggs linen and tableware were found in her private garage.
Forty thousand marchers surged up Beacon Hill in a flawless parade witnessed by a crowd that reached half a million. The event featured 98 bands, national figures including the President and the Governor, and U S military units. Flags from multiple nations fluttered as diverse communities celebrated Columbus.

By 9 o clock the streets along the parade route were crowded and by 11 o clock no passage remained possible. Spectators gathered despite expectations the parade would run late. Behind Beacon Hill crowds filled the streets toward Hereford and Beacon, motor floats thundering by in dust.
Governor S Draper praises a massive public parade in Massachusetts describing it as a prime sign of the times. He notes thousands of loyal citizens across ages and genders passed in review before him and President Taft, calling it a great demonstration for the state and nation.
About 40,000 men took part along with 98 bands and 2500 musicians. Police on duty numbered 1100. Roughly 15 floats were shown over a 3 hours 45 minutes march past. An estimated 500000 people witnessed the event.
Imitation Columbuses and Isabella and Ferdinand figures cling to the parade as banner carriers race along the slick asphalt. Each carrier, aided by two to four assistants, battles strong winds to pace the procession.
The floats outdid any previous parade in Boston as high winds flew by. Spanish nobles glinted in silk and satin while knights in shining mail rode on horseback. Modern Knights of Columbus, especially fourth degree, drew hearty applause along the route.
State committee votes to canvass delegate preferences for Governor via special delivery letters. The body rejects four Superior Court judges including Chief Justice John Aiken and judges Braley Fessen and De Courcey. Dr Sullivan of Fall River proposes hanging four committee members.
The Democratic State committee met to decide a fifth member for the governor selection panel. Frederick J. Macleod and Josep Maynard rejected Chief Justice John Aiken proposed by Mayor Robert Crowley and Hayes supported by others.
