Lawrenced Oct. 11 stockholders of the Boston and Maine railroad ratified the purchase of the Portland and Rochester, Portsmouth and Dover, and Portland Saco and Portsmouth railroads. President Lucius Tuttle and the board were re elected. He denied rumors of deals to control the B and M and said the directors will operate the property for stockholders' interests and will buy common stock at market rates if needed.
