Through bogus receipts in Chicago packing firm collapse

Crooked transactions by N M Neeld, a son in law, allegedly ruined J C Ferguson & Co in Cutcaco. Neeld issued bogus warehouse receipts valued at 400000 and fled to Canada. Antwerp's Rescued Crew by Bulgarian Steamer

The British steamer Bulgarian rescued the Antwerp crew after the bark, bound for Tralee from St John New Brunswick, foundered in a Sept 26–30 gale. Seven sailors volunteered to board a rescue boat, amid heavy seas, and the Antwerp was abandoned after fires were set. Captain Parry and Captain Dakin praise the Bulgarian crew for risking their lives to save the shipwrecked men and officer McRobbie.
