French theatre opens in New York to fashionable audience
Last Saturday night the French theatre in New York opened to a full stylish crowd. Mlle Darcy, a new soubrette, praised as a capital actress, drew attention. A woman named Eliza McDonald, about 30, was found exhausted on a street curb by a police officer Sunday night and given food, lodging, and medical help. Alice Finnegan caused a shock in a New York butcher shop by grabbing a large knife and cutting a throat wound, then was taken to the station house.
