Three men severely cut and bruised on the pavement after a big flyer ran away with a driver. Fred White of Jaunton suffered scalp wounds and facial cuts, Albert Bellon of Dighton and Edward Lincoln of Taunton were both cut and bruised.
The Boston and New York baseball clubs meet today in a decisive series with Boston holding an advantage after Saturday wins. A single win or a tie clinches for Boston, while New York must take both games. Rain cancels would still crown Boston. About 200 Boston fans traveled to New York to cheer, with Gibson slated for Boston and Chesboro for New York.

Six Grand Trunk railway workers are killed by coal gas in the St Clair tunnel under the St Clair River linking Port Huron Michigan and Sarnia Ontario. Engineer John Coleman perished returning to save stalled cars, while Conductor J B Simpson Brakeman D A Gillis and others also died. Fireman Fred Forester survived after escaping into a water tank.
Reports from St Petersburg detail General Kuropatkin launching an offensive with Russian troops pressing south along the railway toward Mukden. Japanese lines are reported broken at Bentsiaputze while Mistchenko’s Cosacks push toward Yentai mines, with both sides maneuvering to protect supply routes.
Miss Bessie Wilson of Clarksburg West Virginia drowned while bathing at Virginia Beach. Four companions Miss Mary Wilson Miss Mary Simpson Miss Eliza Dillon and Miss Louise Latimer were rescued and rushed to the Princess Anne Hotel in serious condition. Lifesavers aided by Mr E Stormont attempted to save all, but Bessie Wilson did not survive.
