Harvard Overseers Vote on Shortening Liberal Arts Study

Harvard Overseers meet at 60 State Street to review changes in the college department. They concur with faculty on appointing committees and proctors for 1890-91, evaluate proposals to reduce the A.B. course from 18 to 16, and consider allowing some medical studies for credit toward the degree. They warn a shorter program could lower liberal education standards and Harvard prestige.
