Letter from Capt Spars on Martha Wenzell near Table Bay
A letter from Capt Spars aboard the Martha Wenzell reports the bark reaching Table Bay on August 10 to repair storm damage from August 4 after an Alabama attack. The privateer crew debated condemning the bark but kept it near land. The vessel planned to resume voyage to England, then paused at the Cape after spotting a steamer.
