Senators Beat Red Sox in Final

The 1914 American League finale at Fenway Park ended in a 8 to 4 Senators victory, clinching third place. The game lasted 1 hour 18 minutes with light crowd apathy as Tris Speaker played unusual positions and Clark Griffith pinch hit, while Joe Wood relieved. Franklin Ruth, Janvrin, Lewis, Gainer and Swanson produced key hits and home runs for the Senators in a farcical late stretch.
