Old farmer Mr Pratt backs Avery in lively convention

In a spirited gathering at the convention an elderly farmer named Mr Pratt of Braintree drew laughs by removing his coat and adjusting spectacles before nominating Edward Avery. Other speakers including Thomas Kiley for Prince, Dr Morse for Grinnell, Col Haggett for Haggett, and Thomas J Gagan of Boston for Prince, voiced support for their preferred candidates.
