Harvard House Opens as Free Harvard Rendezvous in Stratford

Harvard House, the 16th century home of John Harvard’s father, rescued by Marie Corelli and Edward Morris, is now Harvard University property. Whitelaw Reid opened it, declaring it a free resort for visiting sons of Harvard and a general Americans’ rendezvous, with Dr. Lowell’s new presidency linking America and England. The gift honors Harvard’s ties to Stratford and Shakspere’s town.
