Mary Julia Haas a 25 year old teacher in Lake View able school attempted suicide in her Worcester home after being jilted by her lover. She bought a revolver and cartridges earlier in the day. Doctor F W Brigham treated her and she then shot herself in the head. she will lose her eyes though recovery is possible.
