Agricultural Exhibition Opens in Rockport With Broad Display

Rockport citizens inaugurated the first annual agricultural exhibition. Cattle, horses, oxen, bread samples, fruit, flowers, and light manufactured goods fill the Town Hall and surrounding space. Notable displays include Jeans from Apaisquam Mills, a hand embroidered skirt by Miss Alice Farrell, a quilt with 1800 cloth pieces by Mrs Blatchford, and a cabinet of minerals loaned by Dr Edward Baden. The poultry show occupies the adjoining church. President John W Marshall and the Mozart band opened the event. Premiums for agricultural products will be awarded tonight.
