Man In Charge Of North End Post Office Arrested

John Panetty clerk in charge of the North End sub postal station No. 13 and the Italian Bank at 319 North street was arrested yesterday afternoon by United States Marshal Darling on the charge of opening a letter addressed to another person in Italy. His arrest followed efforts by an Italian named Frances.

Detective Cicco Uncovers Missing Money Letter

Co Di Cicco reported to work yesterday and found his registered letter to Italy with seven dollars missing. He identified clerk Panetty at the North End postal station as the suspect after discovering the unsealed envelope being read. Panetty offered settlement. $50 was refused and he faces a hearing after being held in $1000. The case follows numerous similar complaints from locals about letters containing money not arriving. Panetty is married and from Wilmington.

Keating Suspended. Rice Takes Wire Dept Post

John F. Keating of Ward 21, longtime chief clerk and stenographer in the wire department, has been suspended. Frank H. Rice, formerly sewer division chief clerk, now fills the wire department position by transfer, with a $1300 yearly salary. Rice is a Republican, Keating a Democrat.

West Roxbury's New Church Dedicated in Norman Marble Edifice

The First Parish Unitarian Society of West Roxbury dedicated its new church last evening with a full ceremonial program. The corner stone was laid on November 21 1899.
