Mississippi governor race narrows as Fisher leads Humphreys
New York report from Jackson says Mississippi election was quiet with Fisher ahead of Humphreys in the governor race though returns from the south favor Fisher. Humphreys lacks presidential pardon eligibility and may face disfavor if elected. Local anti negro testimony positions show non-admission candidates winning, defying Sharkey’s proclamation. Returns come in slowly as Legislature prepares for session with many election tickets.
