Hibernia Arrives After 14 Day Atlantic Passage
The British mail steamer Hibernia Capt A Ryrie left Liverpool Sept 19 and docked in the city on Oct 3. It carried 107 passengers from Liverpool to Boston and Halifax with 63 from Liverpool to Boston and 18 from Halifax. The voyage brought news from England seven days later than the Great Western’s New York arrival and cotton markets showed sharp moves with large speculative orders and price advances across American and other descriptions.
