Fares Sought Lowered on Lynn Salem Street Rail Lines
Citizens of Salem and Lynn urged the Public Service Commission to order a 5 cent fare on the Highland avenue and Loring street routes between Salem and Lynn. Local officials cited potential development and revenue gains, while the Bay State Street Railway opposed the petition. The commission said evidence of changed conditions is needed before any fare reduction. Wilmington officials also asked for improved service on the Bay State road from Woburn to Wilmington.
