Van Buren Visits Canandaigua Residents
The Canandaigua Messenger reports that Monday last ex President Martin Van Buren visited the village staying weeks at Clifton with his son John Van Buren and friends. At seventy nine he is described as vigorous and active, calling on citizens, dining with Gen. John A. Granger, and returning to Clifton in the afternoon.
