Walter Hunnewell a prominent Boston banker and philanthropist died at his summer home in Wellesley yesterday in his 78th year. Born January 28 1844 he was Harvard 1865 graduate and married Jane Peele of Salem in 1873. He served as trustee at Boston Lying-In Hospital and Summer Street Firemen's Fund a director of Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and treasurer of the Boston Young Men's Christian Union. He also aided horticultural circles as treasurer and trustee of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.
WashingtonSept 30 The national conference on unemployment completed an emergency programme for immediate relief of the nations idle workers. Estimates of unemployed range from 3 500 000 to 5 500 600 persons. Specific measures were adopted by committees.
