Moran issued a cautious statement conceding the reelection of Mayor Fitzgerald while avoiding a direct public endorsement. The scene included tense confrontation with Grenville McFarland swinging a club as Moran faced pressure to back John A. Coulthurst before Sunday.

He sent a letter to Conrad J Mattern, vice president of the Ohio Republican League, regarding league resolutions endorsing Foraker for the senatorship and presidential nomination.
Reported plot to blow up the Taft train near Ufa prompted fifty soldiers to guard the cars as Secretary Taft traveled toward St. Petersburg. He is due to meet Emperor Nicholas and may delay departure to Hamburg amid rumors of a William meeting.
Everett B. Webster, president of National Steel & Wire Co and head of subsidiaries in Dekalb Illinois Bayonne New Jersey New Haven and on the Pacific coast, died at the Windsor Hotel Jacksonville aged 65. He rose from clerk to financier with Boston New York and Paris ties and chaired the New York firm. His wife Annie Moulton Webster had filed a divorce libel two years earlier charging statutory offences. He had grown up in Lynn with his uncle Edwin Johnson and lived in Beverly during summers.
Springfield, Nov. 29. Dr. L. L. Lyman used a pocket knife to save the life of John Hudson's four year old daughter who choked on diphtheria. He slit the windpipe and inserted a tube while another man assisted by blowing into the lungs. within an hour the child began regular breathing.
John D. Archbold, vice president of Standard Oil, declared his money untainted in New York remarks. He said he would not have given a dollar to Syracuse University if he thought his wealth was tainted, asserting fifty years of honest toil and business pursuit as proof.
Forecast calls for fair conditions in Boston and vicinity on Saturday with north to northeast winds. Sunday expected to bring increasing winds and rain or snow by afternoon or night. In eastern New York rain possible in the south with rain or snow in the north by night and brisk to fresh northeasterly winds becoming variable.
