College Girl Mabel A Williams Dies by Her Own Action

Wellesley Mass Nov 29 Beautiful and accomplished 23 year old Mabel A Williams a junior at Wellesley College wrote to her parents in Silverlane Conn that she was tired of living and then jumped into the Charles River Her body was recovered today by the college searching party sent to locate her.

Defence in Suit Case Trial Calls Hunt the Criminal of the Age

Mrs Mary McLeod testified that Dr. Percy D McLeod was at home from 1 pm until after dinner on Sept 19 the day Susan Geary is said to have died. Defense witnesses supported the alibi and expert testimony sought to show any anatomist could have dismembered a body. Innes labeled Hunt the criminal of the age and described his alleged past crimes. The trial adjourned with Grace Ashmead Stanford expected to testify next, and jurors cautioned to avoid newspaper reports.

Freight Collision Smashes Rear of Boston & Maine Train

A heavy Portland freight train No. 249 rear ended the Rockport bound 6:20 p m passenger train at East Everett at 6 36 last evening. Five crowded coaches were tossed and passengers were jostled with injuries minor. Several named victims listed. most passengers continued on the 7 10 regular. The cause of the crash awaits investigation.

Tragedy At Harvard Yale Game Leads To Death

Miss Williams a college student of a retiring nature showed signs of despondency from overstudy and parental rules. After attending the Harvard Yale game with her brother she wrote a note to her mother saying she was tired of living and where her body could be found. Her body was recovered from the river about 100 yards from Section 10 bridge after search efforts began when her mother arrived with the note.

Daniel Kneeland, a Thoméson-Houston Co. night watchman, was shot in the River Works by two assailants and lies dying at City Hospital with two bullet wounds in his head.

A 52 year old Kneeland was shot twice in the head and throat about 11:50 last night in the boiler room of the West Lynn General Electric plant. Police report robbery motive as pay and keys missing, with three men believed involved, one ready to crack an inner office safe.
