Fire destroys Lina Edwin’s Theatre and Arion hall on Broadway

A major blaze at 723 Broadway, starting in the Arion concert saloon, rapidly spread to Lina Edwin’s Theatre and surrounding rear buildings. The fire caused over 100000 in losses, with two or three women narrowly escaping the flames and being assisted away from the icy streets to the New York Hotel.

Thiers Defends Republic in French Assembly Debate
