Haynes Clears Agents After Savannah Raid Error

Prohibition Commissioner Haynes says agents who raided the wrong Savannah residence cannot be blamed. EB Henson, a special agent, was charged by Mayor Stewart with entering the private home of Miss Bessie Garden without justification and likely without a warrant. The entry was from the rear of a nearby house, but the Garden home raid was later deemed a mistake and satisfactory.

Fire destroys Casino theatre at Quincy Point

Early today a fire gutted the Casino theatre at Quincy Point. Patrolman Dewey found the blaze at 1:45 PM with flames from the theater and a candy store basement. A hot air explosion blew four firefighters onto the street but caused no serious injuries. a general alarm and nearby family's evacuation followed before crews brought the fire under control by 2:00 PM.

Young bank bandit surrenders loot in Chelsea holdup

In Detroit on November 28 the apprentice bandit confessed and returned 5000 dollars taken in a Chelsea Massachusetts bank auto holdup. His accidental captors, Michael J. McDonough of Detroit and William M. Coney of Chicago, chased him after noticing suspicious conduct on a Michigan Central train.
