Providence Steamer Delayed by Thick Fog to Newport
The Providence, delayed by heavy fog for 18 hours, reached Newport Harbor at 8 55 with 250 passengers landed there and sent to Boston by two special trains. The ship waited at the New York dock overnight and left at 9 am yesterday, crawling up the Connecticut coast in fog and arriving 12 hours after its usual 8 hour trip.
