Second Listemann Quartet Concert Review in Boston
Last night the Second Listemann Quartet performed Grieg in G minor op. 27 with vocal pieces by Liszt and a Dvorak quintet in G major. Critique notes thin ensemble tone, Listemann’s tuning issues during Bach chaconne, Smith’s colorless singing, and Frockton’s overbearing bass line affecting balance. Dvorak quintet praised for its opening movement and scherzo, but last movement disappoints.
