Seventeen Barges Lost In New York Storms

The storm along New York Harbor and Long Island Sound caused extensive shipping disruption. Seventeen coal barges towed by the Dordentown were lost ashore at Staten Island and Long Island points, with one barge breaking apart near Fort Wadsworth.
