Delay Taking U S Dead Home in France
Paris reports that 65,000 American soldiers buried in France are to remain until the French can exhume their own dead, with exhumation expected before 1922. The foreign office upheld that allies who died for the same cause should stay together in death until bodies can be returned to families. A three year exhumation delay bill failed, but is expected to pass soon, with exhumation likely to begin well before January 1922.
