Chelsea Woman Slugged In Chelsea Robbery Attempt

Mrs Royal Fifield of 122 Shurtleff street was attacked on her Chelsea yard at about 6 30 pm while returning from the store. A medium height man tore her dress and grabbed a black leather pocketbook containing 7 50 after striking her. Neighbors saw a young man fitting the description flee the area.

A by law restricting tents without board permission was discussed to drive campers from Short Beach. Messages of condolence for Andrew Burnham were adopted and a five member committee was set to study tree destruction from pests and infrastructure. The meeting adjourned to Jan 19.

Trial Begins With Mrs Potter's Husband as Witness

In Plymouth on November 24 the Marion court case opened with seven defendants charged with riot and assaults connected to the August 6 event. John J. Simmons, a key witness, was briefly missing then found, and Charley Potter identified several defendants as present during the disturbances. The jury was seated and district attorney French warned the panel that the case had been widely reported, promising to call seven government witnesses led by James McDonald and Mrs Potter.
