Lighter Rescues 2 Men From Drowning Off Hull Gaty
A steam lighter Jessie James belonging to the American Glue Company rescued two United States Army privates Joseph Langley and Harold Belcher after their boat capsized in a squall near Hull Gaty. Towboats failed to move the vessel, and salvage work continued at low water.
