Double Crime at Taunton Boarder Slays Woman Then Kills Self

In Taunton, at 11 o'clock, Fred L Luther shot Mrs Abbie Eliza Barber in her Ingell Street home and then killed himself with a second pistol shot. The bodies lay in Washburn's undertaking rooms. Etta Barber identified Luther at the scene. Police took Luther’s body to the undertaker’s, with no autopsy planned.

Congregationalists Protest Acceptance of Bacchante at Public Library

After-dinner speeches at Tremont Temple voiced opposition to placing Macmonnies's bronze Bacchante in the Public Library court.
