Phone Girls Not To Strike In Brockton
The Brockton Telephone Operators Union will not strike tomorrow morning despite reports. Miss Julia N. O'Connor of the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers said no strike would be authorized until organizational machinery is used for a peaceful settlement. She denied official knowledge of any Brockton walkout and noted reports center on Margaret Hickey of Holbrook, the local president, who was discharged last Thursday and may be reinstated.
