War office releases from General Clery and Colonel Baden Powell note Mafeking and Mooi River activity. Three privates wounded at Mooi River. Mafeking losses include 2 officers and 17 men killed and 4 officers and 29 men wounded. Enemy losses described as heavy. guns remain in range.

The first in a winter series at Tremont Theatre presents El Gran Galeoto in dramatic form. John Blair directed with thoughtful, accomplished work and Maud Banks translated the piece with brilliant dialogue.
The matinee by Mr. Herne and company drew a crowded, mostly actor audience. Notables including Mr. James O'Neil Mr. Den man Thompson and Sir Henry Irving’s son Laurence Irving appeared in boxes. After the third act the crowd urged Mr Herne to speak and he did so gracefully.
