In Bellows Falls Vermont testimony was taken before Judge Wyman in the Robert Fitton v. Insurance Companies case. The Cam bridgeport Woolen Mill burned last August and Fitton seeks twelve thousand dollars. Records show further fire losses totaling about eighty thousand dollars.
In Lancaster Pennsylvania two freight trains collided in rapid motion in the Pennsylvania Railroad yard at Columbia this morning. A caboose and two cars were demolished while the engine and six cars of the other train were thrown from the track. Brakeman David Mower of Columbia was asleep in the caboose and fatally injured.

At Hartford meeting of the Connecticut Central Railroad, leased to the New York and New England as the Springfield Division, the year’s gross earnings were 95,409.05 with expenses 105,075.96. Fixed charges total 19,494.78, yielding a net deficit of 24,161. The three years before May 1883 showed losses totaling 137,351, while the two years and eight months before the lease averaged 11,625 in annual net income. Philadelphia date line reports Robert Cunningham, who finished an 18 month sentence for mail fraud, was rearrested upon leaving prison on a charge related to a conspiracy to defraud the American Legion of Honor of $5,000. He was committed in default of 3500 dollars bail.
The Sentinel 7 reports losses from gales November 11 to 17 totaling 55 lives and sixty vessels. Of the vessels, 11 entries amount to about 6000 tons and over 300000 dollars in value released. Twenty six ships 9000 tons valued at 400000 dollars are total losses.
The Mississippi Valley Bank of Vicksburg Miss closed its doors this morning and its offices were placed in the hands of a receiver. A. K. Bonham & Co of St Louis, a grain futures firm, caused the assignment. The bank president says depositors are fully protected and will lose nothing. Assets and liabilities are not yet known.
In Camber n New Jersey four men tried to rob Edward T. Dougherty Jewelry Store last night. The proprietor fought a bandit, a shot struck Mrs. Dougherty, the gang fled, and one suspect named John Walsh of St. Louis was captured.
PROVI DENC Nov 21 David Bagley 85 one of Pawtucket's oldest citizens with impaired sight and hearing was struck by a Boston bound train at a closed Dexter street crossing and killed instantly He leaves a widow and six children.
A dispatch from Henrietta, Texas, reports Ed Dawson, a leading stock man in Clay County, assigned all his property to W R Curtiss yesterday. Total assets reached 425000 with liabilities of 257000. The reason for the assignment was not disclosed.
In Brussels on November 21 Daly and Garnier began a billiards duel at the Grand hotel. Daly led with 600 and Garnier 539 in the first innings. Play will continue tomorrow.
Judge White presided in Norfolk probate court granting letters of administration for Maria del Rosa King, Harvey T. Billings, James Forsyth, and Herbert F. Norse. Paul West seeks to compromise claims in Isaac Taylor estate. Insolvency hearings for John H. Brooks and Mary P. Alden adjourned. Keefe named assignee in Boston case. further meetings set for January.
William Kelley 16, John Connolly 18, and William Doyle 20 were arrested midweek on charges of breaking and entering the saloon of Charles McCarty at 2164 Washington Street, the armory at Plympton Street, and the moulding mill at 6 Wareham Street, with recovered pistols, boots, and cash. An unknown woman died after a fall or jump from a fourth story window near Codman Avenue in the orchestra district.
Fitchburg Nov 21 The sixth annual meeting closes at Calvanistic Church after two days of discussion on Normal Work and Sunday School Supervision led by Rev A E Winship Rev Webster Woodbury Rev Francis N Peloubet Rev Smith Baker Rev Erastus Blakeslee Rev A Li Love and others. The gathering was well attended and of general interest.

In Concord New Hampshire on November 21 Mrs Judith M Smith, while under a temporary fit of insanity, cut her throat with a razor nearly severing the windpipe and causing a potentially fatal wound.
