He said wealth gains value only when used to serve the community and a person earns goodwill through service. The $15,000,000 income is meant as the rightful heritage of retiring college presidents and teachers.
In Keene New Hampshire Mrs Ethel Ormonde Thompson wife of Franklin Thompson son of Denman Thompson of Old Homestead fame was granted a divorce by Judge Robert N Chamberlain. The cross suit by Franklin Thompson was dismissed and the grounds cited were conduct seriously injuring health and endangering reason.
An armed force has occupied Government House since last night as officials seek refuge there. Citizens backed by teachers opened schools against orders, while Judge Siegfred faced a stone attack for fining teachers. The administrator urged calm as protests subsided and cable messages urged restraint awaiting word from the minister of the colonies.
St Pierre de Miquelon, off Newfoundland, remains France's final North American foothold. With few inhabitants, the harbor offers deep water access and safe anchorage for fleets. The islands, 90 square miles, lack vegetation and rely on imports from nearby Newfoundland.
Professor R W Wood of Johns Hopkins University presented a mercury telescope concept to the National Academy of Science claiming it may reveal life on Mars if it exists. He detailed his experimental physics chair findings in Baltimore on November 18.
