Miss Gladys Price organist at Mariners' Temple on Catharine and Madison streets was shot by John T. Davis who identifies as her husband. Davis fled but was captured and taken to Oak Street station. Davis is believed to be insane and Price says she does not know him.

The failure of P. W. Gallaudet & Co., bankers and brokers, was announced at 10 30 this morning. The firm had been known to be in difficulties last week, and the failure caused little surprise. It was not viewed as a bad collapse, attributed mainly to money stringency.

Lima Ohio November 18 A building under construction at the Solar refinery collapsed during roof work killing two men F Spridel and James Coble and injuring a dozen or more, several of them seriously W F Cox Jeff Winner J P Hine George Marks W F Jones and Charles A Moore were among the injured The 175 by 35 foot frame building owned by Standard Oil collapsed as workers were placing the roof panels

New York, Nov 18. The Associated Press learns through T P O Connor and T P Gill that the Irish envoys are firmly resolved to support Parnell. They cite gratitude for past service and the essential need for his leadership to advance their movement. Delegates across the country will sign a joint message backing Parnell, to be sent early tomorrow.
London Nov 18 Mr Quilter of Universal Review discusses the Stanley controversy asserting Jameson diary and private letters were placed in a box by Bonny after Jameson died and confided to Stanley who opened it kept papers until after legal pressure. Stanley then delivered extracts to the Ottoman Bank for the family. Quilter links Barttelot and Jameson disputes to Kenny as tale bearer in camp. Bonny allegedly a paid Stanley servant.
In Dvusury county Cork the Schull Union board room faced a crowd of about a thousand small farmers and laborers pleading for food or employment. Father Forrest of Goleen cited thirty starving families and personal funds to aid them. A deputation from the Schull & Skibbereen railway urged the board to seek government funding to extend the line to Crookhaven and to build piers.
In Paris the Chamber of Deputies debated measures to curb France's gold drain to foreign markets. Finance Minister Rouvier urged against interruption while M. Laur pressed for immediate discussion on the loan to the Bank of England and the government's handling of foreign markets. Floquet urged Laur to limit remarks to the point.
