Remarks of Col. Graham on American army discipline and service

Col. Graham of the Engineer Corps praised the nation’s army as citizen soldiers forged at West Point. He recalled his 1814 voyage to West Point, urged unity with Navy officers, and noted the army’s discipline and duty in Florida Mexico and the frontier. The crowd applauded as the eighth regular toast was announced.

Case postponed as witnesses fail to arrive in North trial

Col Fenton Governor elect of New York and others, witnesses in Col North case, did not arrive, delaying proceedings until tomorrow. Prosecution already closed. another day or two needed to present to the Commission. Prominent Louisiana citizens urged Gen Banks' return to Louisiana and praised his popular leadership.
